MIMIC Version 2.20 extends SNMP simulation functionality

NASHUA, N.H., April 11, 1998 -- Gambit Communications, Inc. today
announced immediate availability of MIMIC SNMP Agent Simulator version
2.20.

MIMIC SNMP Agent Simulator provides a simulated network management
environment of unlimited scale at a fraction of the cost of traditional
laboratories. By utilizing MIMIC simulation technology, network management
applications can benefit from rapid development, superior quality
assurance, customized sales presentations and timely support. Users
of network management applications can evaluate applications before
purchase, and test current and future network scenarios without disturbing
the existing mission-critical network. MIMIC can be used to help train
MIS staff on routine and crisis tasks without impacting the production
network.

MIMIC SNMP Simulator version 2.20 can simulate 250 SNMP-manageable devices
on one Intel PC or Solaris workstation.  Each agent is individually or
collectively configurable. Simulations can be changed at run-time to
investigate a range of scenarios. Included in this release is support for
SNMP SET requests and TRAPs, 64-bit counters, persistence and scripting.
New for this release is better configuration, enhanced scripting, faster
performance.
