Gambit Communications makes MIMIC more Intuitive and User-Friendly

Nashua, NH – January 25, 2005 Gambit Communications, the leading network simulation tools provider, today announced the release of MIMIC® Simulator version 7.10. Keeping user friendliness and intuitiveness in mind, MIMIC 7.10 sports a new platform-native look and feel. It also has major performance enhancements to make it faster and more responsive.

MIMIC supports SNMPv1, v2, v2c and v3, and DHCP, TFTP and ToD, Cisco IOS, TL1 and Cable Modem Simulation capabilities.

MIMIC 7.10 new features include:

  • Platform-native look-and-feel for the graphical user interface
  • Major performance improvements in the user interface and the simulator
  • Revamped Help System
  • Solaris 10 Operating System support along with Windows and Linux Support
  • Support for the latest Tcl/Tk 8.4.8 scripting environment
  • SNMPv3 engine-id indexing: To allow multiple agents with same IP address/port but different engine-id
  • Addition of many Cisco IOS command support to make simulation of Cisco devices closer to the real device
  • New simulated devices and networks in the library
  • Additional performance enhancements
  • Gambit is simultaneously releasing version 3.10 of its new product MIMIC Virtual Lab Enterprise. It includes many ready-made networks of devices from different manufacturers, supporting SNMP and Cisco IOS protocols.
